Swiss Roll or Book Fold

Are you a folder or a roller?

To be fair, it doesn't really matter, there's no real 'right or wrong' way to pack your board.

The question should be, do you need to fit more in your bag and if you do, what's the best way to maximise space?

Let's break it down👇

The Swiss Roll

Rolling your board is great as you can wrap thing inside to protect them, especially if you're travelling. Items like electric pumps, manual pumps, expensive paddles and even diving/snorkelling equipment can be safely rolled un inside the board and tucked away in the bag...but it isn't the most effective for space saving.

The Book Fold

This little technique is how most boards are packed in the box you receive them in. The purpose of this is to keep the boards nice and flat and maximise space in your bag. If you have a FatStick Wheeled SUP Bag, you can easily fit 2 boards in once bag when they are folded In this way.

Which Is Right

Well...like all things with stand up paddle boarding, if it's safe and you're happy, it's right. There's no rule book for how to pack up your board, there's only your way. And who knows, maybe you have your own technique. Do you? If you do, let us know!

Whether you're packing an AirStick, Pure Art, Wooden Menace or a Tourer - these techniques will work for you and if you're travelling on a plane with your boards, book folding could save you taking 2 bags!

...yup, travel advice as well! It just keeps getting better 😇
